The beautiful thing about our industry is trends and styles change with the season…..there is ALWAYS something new and fun. A new product, new fashion fad (can you say feathers?!?!), a celebrity gets their haircut and soon everyone is coming to the salon to get something just like it!
While the feather fad is slowly moving out….( can’t wait to see what replaces it)…..I thought I would touch on the top 5 must haves that have arrived at Urban Eve! It’s hard to put these things in order (because I’m obsessed with all of them!)…so, they are in random order 
1. Holiday Sequin TOMS
…..let’s just say it, if you have not tried a pair of TOMS, you have been missing out! TOMS is a “not just for profit” shoe company that gives a kid a pair of shoes for every pair they sell. Pretty awesome….To say this shoe has become a huge trend is an understatement! It all started with a guy on a trip to Argentina, saw poverty, wanted to make a difference, had a shoe idea and the rest is history….you see them EVERYWHERE! It’s not just a stylish and comfy shoe, but a shoe with a heart behind it. The solid canvas are our best sellers, we can’t keep the glitters in stock, but TOMS has done it this season…..”The Sequins”. This will be on EVERY Christmas wish list. They come in black and pewter. Cordones, classic style, and the dressy wedge. Urban Eve has gotten our first shipment this week….but, don’t procrastinate….these will go FAST!
2. Bare Minerals Amazing Lip Color
Holiday Kit.

3. “Ombre” Hair Color.
A fancy word for a hair coloring technique where the color goes on darker at the root and then fades into lighter and brighter highlights on the mid-shaft and ends. Note: Ombre hair color should NOT leave you looking like your roots have grown out. The key to getting this trend right is making sure the deeper shade at the root is soft and gradually bleeds out.

1. prefer low-maintenance, natural looking highlights (ombre highlights grow out beautifully and are virtually maintenance free).
2. are bored with solid, dark hair and want a boost of color without a total commitment to highlights.

4. Redken All Soft Argan Oil.
This is a product that made it into our hands recently….let me just say one word….OBSESSED. There are so many uses for this oil. The wonderful thing about it….it is NOT greasy. It gives your hair softness, nourishment, and protects dry, brittle hair.
This one luxurious oil has six amazing uses for achieving silky softness: before you shampoo to moisturize, before you blow-dry to protect, after you blow-dry to smooth, on dry hair to enhance shine, added to treatments to soften or overnight to recondition.
I can’t get enough of this stuff. We are using it on every guest…..putting it in our conditioning treatments, before blow-drys, as a finishing smoothing gloss…..the uses are endless. This is for sure a product you will want to pick up at Urban Eve for fall.
5. Falling Whistles. 
At Urban Eve we feel we have a “responsibility” to bring awareness to the injustices that are going on in our community and around the world. To do something positive, tell the story, be passionate.
I recently stumbled onto these whistles in a boutique and became interested to find out what they were about. I had NO idea there was even a war going on in the Congo…..much less, little children being on the front lines of it. I read how the soldiers kidnap children from their villages, some of them so small that they cannot even hold a gun. So, they are given whistles. They are put on the front lines of the war, forced to blow the whistles around their neck, so that they are the first ones to be shot. I was horrified. Children should be playing soccer, watching cartoons, and most of all…loved.
Instantly I felt a responsibility to carry these at Urban Eve. To get the story out about these children.
100% of Falling Whistle proceeds are used to rehabilitate and advocate for war-affected children.
Wearing a Falling Whistle around my neck gives me the chance to tell the story, remember these children, and most of all….help fund their rescue.
